What is FOCA?
IF THE PRESIDENT SIGNS THE “FREEDOM OF CHOICE ACT (FOCA), ALL LAWS THAT LIMIT ABORTION, ALL CLAUSES THAT PROTECT FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE, AND ALL RESTRICTIONS ON ABORTION WILL BE INVALIDATED.
What laws would be invalid?
-the Hyde Amendment, which restricts federal funding of abortion -the Partial Birth Abortion Law (upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court 4/07) -state laws in 44 states that preserve a parental role when minors seek abortions -laws in 40 states restricting late-term abortions -laws in 16 states providing for ultrasounds before an abortion -laws that protect the right of conscience for individual health care providers (46 states) and Catholic hospitals (27 states)
Please note that this means many hospitals will close to avoid being forced to perform abortions.
